Born in Manhattan, but raised in affluent Greenwich, CT, Amanda thrived on the artistic side of life. As an only child with two straight-laced parents, little Demanda created her own hot pink universe to grow in! Why conform to the box when you can live outside of it? At only six years old she was awarded the first prize for painting at the New York Times' Children's Art Competition.
With a love for Glam-Rock and a passion for powerful female icons like Courtney Love and Tori Amos, Amanda was inspired to take life by the balls and run with it! Throughout her adolescence her talents were expanded into poetry/song writing, voice lessons, fashion design, and social event planning. She attended college in Boston at one of the country's top art schools — The School of The Museum of Fine Arts. She also received a dual degree from the prestigious Ivy League Tufts University.
After living in Boston for four-and-a-half years, and partaking in numerous art exhibitions and Boston based party events, Amanda moved to New York City in August 2004. After indulging in the quintessential New York lifestyle of Sex, Drugs, and Rock 'n' Roll, she continued to work on her mixed media collages and two-dimensional paintings.
Since meeting a pack of brilliantly talented East Village musicians, Demanda has dived into coordinating glamorous, debauchery ridden parties and rock 'n' roll events!
Recently, Amanda has been collaborating with friend and bassist Tommy USA. (White Light Motorcade, The Drew Blood, Loud Lucy) The two are in the midst of writing an album filled with rock riffs and screaming fits!
Vowing to turn the city into one giant hot pink sparkle, we have only seen the beginning of Amanda Demanda!
